	Vintage BAKELITE Compass from WW11 Luminous VINTAGE BAKELITE WWII MILITARY COMPASS - with COMPLETE ORIGINAL BOX and INSTRUCTIONS! You are bidding on the item fully described below. Bakelite Box Bakelite Ring Glass top with luminous arrow - almost faded away :( Compass card Compass needle and pivot Base card Compass itself and original box The compass is made of deep chocolate brown bakelite.   There are 2 luminous dots on the red needle point and the 0 degrees line.   We assume the material is radium - see article on luminous watch faces at http://elginwatches.org/help/luminous_dials.html   It has the words manufactured into the bottom "The Cox Compass"   The box is covered in crococile or snakeskin patterned grey paper and printed on the top is "The Cox" COMPASS ____ WHEN COMPASS IS NOT IN USE STAND BOX ON SIDE There is one corner split in the top half of the box and all corners show wear. The bottom of the box is in good shape.   Instruction leaflet has a split on the fold, but is otherwise excellent cond. Leaflet comprises 6 paragraphs and starts with these words - "A Luminous Twin Needle Compass, for Military Work" Description of Compass Description of Compass Card How to Set a Bearing How to Take a Bearing Special Notes about the luminous dots Special Notes on how to store compass when not in use Dimensions 3.25" square x 1" tall.     Any strange colour reflections on the photos are just from the camera glare. The compass is a uniform deep chocolate brown all over.    We assume it is an English WWII item as it came from an English Estate Lot. We are happy to add any info if anyone knows any more of this item's history.   P.S. It works PERFECTLY! 	Vintage MINIATURE Antique Wooden Tape Dispenser   VINTAGE WOODEN STICKY TAPE ROLL   SOME ORIGINAL PAPER STILL ON THE ROLL!   The paper is see through, and shiny on the underneath side - it's very like the old sticky hinges that stamp collectors used to use to stick their stamps into albums.   It is a wooden reel (like the old cotton sewing reels) with a metal attachment that is one of the VERY FIRST patented ideas for a sticky tape dispenser. 1" across x 1" deep.   The metal part says "Dennison's ADHESIVE TAPE.
